Thanks1 Scott Taylor Jul 13th, 05, 03:07 PM Classic Industries regularly runs a 20% discount offer. I don't know if they offer free shipping on large orders though. X33D80 Jul 13th, 05, 03:32 PM Even with the 20% discount they also give free shipping if your order is greater than $1k. I've done it with them twice now. The last 20% program expired the end of June. Based on their recent pattern they may do again during September. grag Jul 13th, 05, 03:59 PM I need them before september :( Jon13 Jul 13th, 05, 04:30 PM Look for a dealer local. I'm sure there is one. grag Jul 13th, 05, 05:24 PM I have a local dealer but I doubt he will do better than 10%, plus I have to pay 5% state tax. thorpe67RS Jul 13th, 05, 07:48 PM Ricks has pretty good prices and 10% discount on top of that is pretty good as well. I would say your only shot of doing better would be if you waited for the Classic Ind 20% promo again, if you cant wait i think Ricks is it. Gary L Jul 13th, 05, 09:34 PM Call Keith at Classic muscle in North Carolina. Tell him Gary from California sent you. Their prices may beat the deal Rick's has and their quality is usually better. They supply GM parts when they can. You may be close enough to will call and get a discount for that. kencar69 Jul 14th, 05, 05:18 AM I think if you run the numbers, that even with the 20% discount from Classic's, it wont be much different or even better than you will see with the 10% from Ricks. Plus you tend to get things from Ricks in a couple of days, compared to more than a week from Classic. jm69ss Jul 14th, 05, 05:39 AM I agree that Rick's is probably your best bet. I recently made a large purchase ($2K) and got quotes from several places (Rick's, NPD, etc) and Rick's came out slightly ahead. Be warned though that the 10% discount doesn't apply to kits and other specially marked items. Also, the free shipping is for small parts only - anything big or heavy and you still pay UPS oversize. My order ended up being $100 or so more than I anticipated because of these issues. Tokala Jul 14th, 05, 06:01 AM When I was building my car, I made an Excel spreadsheet. I listed the parts and then entered the prices from the different vendors. I looked at Rick's, Classic Industries, D&R, and a couple of others. I could then get an easy total. I could also find who had what part the cheapest. When looking at the totals, Rick's came out the best deal. BellzToll Jul 14th, 05, 07:27 AM Also, Check Out National Parts Depot out of Charlotte NC, their prices are pretty good, and their service is outstanding. Plus they offer free shipping on orders over $300.00 sicsD8 Jul 14th, 05, 09:40 AM grag- I've always had good luck with Classic Industries. I'm in South Florida and get the parts the next day. I try to buy at $300 or over and get the free shipping. Their oversize shipping is only $7.00 :beers: 69CamaroChesapeakeVA Jul 14th, 05, 08:13 PM stay away from the Paddock. Their parts are marginal at best. I ordered all my parts from Matts classic bowties and firewheel classics. They are both good to work with. Firewheel is by far the best mailorder company that I have worked with throughout my build. Musclerodz Jul 15th, 05, 11:23 AM Year One routinely runs 20% off sales as well. I don't know if they have a shipping discount though. Mike BellzToll Jul 15th, 05, 11:29 AM Paul, getting ready to buy the fornt end shet metal next payday, found a good deal for 900.00 Both Fenders, Cowl Hood, Rad support, Valance Panel, Header panel. I think there's more , but I cant really remember off hand. Call me this weekend Dave 69Camarozz396 Jul 17th, 05, 05:32 AM The thing that I noticed about Ricks was it seemed like anything over $100 was not eligible for the volume discount. At least the parts that I wanted. He still had the best prices on 60% of the parts that I was looking at but to reach the $500 or $1000 mark would take some doing. Back in the day when I was ordering lots of parts, I ordered from several places at one time. Quality was # 1 priorty, followed by price. If I could save money by any means without compromising quality, I did. Money saved=more parts. D&R classics and Ricks get the bulk of my business. Phil Dave Birdwell Jul 18th, 05, 10:45 PM Try D&L classic camaro parts in Naperville. They did me a good deal on a $5000 order. Free shipping too. I avoid YO like the plague. Got screwed by them once. grag Jul 24th, 05, 06:54 PM Rick's just had a pretty nice price increase. :( vklundt Aug 4th, 05, 02:27 AM Send me a list of parts you are needing and on most parts I can beat the prices and have your parts drop shipped directly to your door step. If any freight charges apply they will be what my costs is I dont look down to get rich on freight costs. Vickie vklundt@neb.rr.com grag Aug 4th, 05, 04:37 AM I wish you had replied earlier :( I ordered about 3k from Rick's last week. I will keep you in mind for future orders. Thanks! |
