i just picked up my 1987 z 2.8 and the fuel pump keeps dieing what should i do

Replace the fuel pump?

fuel pump dieing? or starving for fuel? if dieing change fuel pump if it been along time since tune up change filter, then change fuel pump

no i have changed the fuel pump like 3 times and replaced all the fuel lines

and its never starving for fuel

but it keeps dieing

Are the fuel pumps going bad/ burning out? if so check that your tank is clear of debris. If otherwise, recheck the wiring to make sure that its good and tight. It may just be a loose or bad connection that is causing the pump motor to work too hard and thus frying it out.

Is it electric or mechanical. I knew a guy that was running an electric fuel pumps and kept frying them because he didn't have a return line. I believe this was what the problem was, it was a long time ago so I only remember vagly and I have never used an electic fuel pump so I don't know much about them...
