The president of my car club is on his way to VA this weekend to look at this car. Do any of you guys have any knowledge on rustangs? My questions would be: Doesn't 14k seem low with the reserve already met on a '67 convert? Comparing to to the same year Camaro (although there is no comparison) the seemingly low reserve makes me curious.

Why wouldn't a cowl tag be shown? (or do rustangs not have cowl tags?)

What's going on with the next to the last pic of the passenger side of the car? Doesn't the front fender look cocked? It is high at the door, and low at the bumper, yet the red stripes match perfectly??

Just wondering if anyone had some thoughts on this car.

No expert but do know that there are about 5 times more early Mustangs out there to choose from. I think that keeps the prices down, even on ragtops... That said there are some more desirable optioned Mustangs and their prices will reflect it but on the avg a Mustang brings much less than a Camaro.

The car was probably a 6 cylinder originally. There is a reason that the seller is skirting the issue of cowl tags, documentation and numbers. A Camaro that was originally a 6 banger, that now has a ZZ4 in it is worth a lot less than an original V8 car.

The door tag and vin will tell all on a Ford . The "problem" with them is that as long as dates and casting #s match on components they are " orig.- #s matching", impossible to prove or disprove on nearly all models. Boss cars are an exception, I believe. I've got to go get an aspirin now, too much Ford thought!!

Thanks for the responses. I heard he was going to look at the car lastnight, so I thought I'd check out the post on ebay. After looking at it, I just have this kinda wierd feeling about the car....something just doesn't seem right, but can't put my finger on it. (other than it being a ford)
