Why would put the rear end from the '01 in your '67?

CFunk I have a frind that done a frame off on a 55 Chevy they took a WS6 motor, trans, and rear put under the 55 which turned out really good. Got the disc. brakes on the rear etc. but they did have to cut the rear down to the right lenght for the 55 which I will do for the 67 and order new axles.

I wouldn`t sink a single dollar in a 7.5 ws.6 rearend. I would put a better rearend in than that. Those rearends are known to be quite weak. I have one in my ws.6.

I think he's right. I'd sell it and put the $$ towards something else. There has to be demand for that rear. I think they fit 3rd & 4th gens.

That was kind of my point. Plus, wouldn't you have to deal with coil springs in the rear, panhard rod, etc?

Seems like alot of expense and fabbing just to have a less superior rearend than say an 8.5 10 bolt or a 12 bolt.

Are you looking to get rear disk brakes? Couldn't you use the ws6 rear disk on the 10 oir 12 bolt rear that is in the car?

As far as the coil springs and the pan hard bar that is no problem I would remove those and weld on leaf spring perches. As far as the rear being weak I may have to check and see what it would cost to put the disc. on a 12 bolt and change the gear in the 12 bolt I have 6 or 8 12 bolts rears.

The reardiscs should be pretty much a bolt-on deal on the old rear axle.

I would have taken the discs from the new car.

Check my site for some info on how to do it with discs from Camaro 89-96
