Got one of the 69's out yesterday to take for an afternoon drive and when I got in the car I thought I felt a crack on the steering wheel, Upon futher inspection at where the metal spoke on the left comes out to the rosewood there is a crack. Who can fix this???? Then when wife and I came out from lunch, Skies started looking gray and we headed home, but got caught in a mild rain, Winsheild started leaking right behind where the rear view mirror is and was dripping on console??? What caused this??
The windshield is the original and car always lives in garage. did the rope seal just dry out out what has caused this leak?

Could be the windshield needs to be resealed, this area is also prone to rust. You will need to have the glass removed and inspect the area for rust thru.

if the glass is original, i'd suggest replacing it anyway. They're going to charge a pretty penny to reseal it (they'd most likely reseal the entire gasket), so for an extra 50 bucks I'd imagine you can get new glass, new gasket, new seals.

Of course, not truly necessary, but I always take "opportunities" such as these.
