I am having a heck of a time geting the lockout linkage to work. First I bought a setup off eBay ;-( Bad move. After reading posts it mounted with 3 holes where 4sp mount with 2. Wrong bellcrank. Second I bough a repro bottom rod and still reverse locks up. I removed the link to the steering wheel and still reverse locksup. Moves freely when the bellcrank linkage is discounnected. I am even thinging I might have the wrong reverse mount for the linkage to mount to. The repro has the shifter link hole and the bell link hole right next to each other where my "original" has the shifter linkage hole about 1 1/2 inchs lower. So the first question is does the bellcrank mount left to right or top to bottom since there are 3 holes it could go either way. Ordering a new steering to bellcrank linkage. The one that came with the 3 hole mount seems to short.
Thanks!

Don, first off, we need to look at the bellcrank. There are 3 different kinds. PG is about 45 degrees, th350 is 10 and muncie is 90. The bellcrank mounts opposite the way you think it does. The rod from the steering column mounts to the arm facing the rear. trans is facing up and towards the engine.

Thanks Kevin,
I think I got it. It seems that they would hit each other. But since the frame has 3 holes in it you can mount the bellcrank to the top bolt hole and the second directly below or the second to the hole towards the front of the car.
Not sure which way.
I'll print out your info and lay under the car in the morning. What might be throwing me off is that I think I have the wrong linkage to the steering. it came with the 3 hole mount bellcrank (auto's). I'll order that rod from Ricks Monday morning. Trying like he-- to get the car running by fall so I can do the quarter panel in night school.
Thanks as always for the help!!!

Don, if you see this tomorrow, what time are you working on the car? I have not had mine out in 2 weeks, so if the weathers nice, I want to take a ride. I can bring it over and we can fix your problems. let me know what time you are going to be home.
