Hey,
I was thinking (Boy that a stretch) do you think in 20 or 30 years cars, that were restored now with documentation from the restorer will make the car with more, even if there not orginal.
I figure all cars will go up in value just some more then others. Since i have no documents for my car for the first 35 years, maybe in 35 years someone will be impressed on what i have done and documented. Time will only tell.

I don't know for a fact but in general I would think a well documented car is worth more because the buyer knows exactly how the car is restored and cared for. I would document everything you do and purchase for the restoration. And if you want to go all out you can even document maintainence after your done like oil changes, alignment, tuneups etc). I'm trying to do this for my current project. Even if it doesn't make your car more valuable pricewise it may make it more salable. If i were deciding between several cars that were comperable I would rather buy the one with a known history.

It shows the owner was very detail oriented, - couldn't hurt!

I have about 200 digital pics, along with several rolls worth of film, of the frame off 69 RS Z Im restoring now. And its just now getting to paint/body. Plus every single receipt/invoice. And pages of notes that Ive taken, but mostly for my own lack of memory.
May be overkill, but I figure you only get that one chance during each step of the resto.

Here's a link for software that helps you organize all of your documentation. We use the pro version to bill our customers. It has a few bugs here and there but all in all not bad. They have a free trial so you can give it a try.
