View Full Version : girlfriend tried parking my car. rolling-robert Jul 18th, 05, 09:45 AM http://img1.imageshack.us/img1/3696/463176299uu.jpg DjD Jul 18th, 05, 10:16 AM Man, they try so hard to avoid something like that when the historics are racing. I bet someone got black ball'd for causing that mess!! sgthawkusmc Jul 18th, 05, 10:19 AM I think I'm going to be ill... 69-Z11Pacer Jul 18th, 05, 10:21 AM Where and when was that??? It makes me feel sick. Codi Jul 18th, 05, 10:23 AM Betcha it was the guy in the Mustang. oger Jul 18th, 05, 10:27 AM How in the world did the roadster get in there backwards? I thought they just raced to have fun. Not be crazy DjD Jul 18th, 05, 10:50 AM Looks like they are all just coming out of the pits too... not even on the track at high speed yet... sgthawkusmc Jul 18th, 05, 10:52 AM I don't know... to me it looks like there was an accident and everyone else came around the corner and couldn't stop in time. KevinW Jul 18th, 05, 11:17 AM www.roadamerica.com is the Elkhart Lake, wisconsin road course. I would say the first vette roaster spun in front of the pack and they all bunched up. BBC1 Jul 18th, 05, 11:23 AM They'll be some cheap parts hitting e-bay real soon....LOL......I'm gonna go puke now! tmannet Jul 18th, 05, 11:27 AM All I can say is that hopefully this is a fake photo...something about it doesn't look real...there are no heavy rubber skid markings near any of the vehicles...maybe just wishful thinking! BTW I live in Wisconsin, I've been to that speedway, it's a real small track, if I remember correctly... Terry ummgawa Jul 18th, 05, 11:38 AM "Dad, you know your old car you didn't want me to drive while you and Mom were on vacation? Well I had a small accident..." DjD Jul 18th, 05, 11:54 AM Look at the pic, the infield grass then a narrow area where the cars are up against a short wall and then the wider track area beyond the short wall with the emergency vehicles. I'm kinda thinking it was a photo chop pic too... KevinW Jul 18th, 05, 12:07 PM If it is photochop, they did a great job. You can see the mustangs orange paint through the window of the vette coupe and your can see the reflection of the white paint of the 70s vette on the bottom rear of the mustang. djunod Jul 18th, 05, 12:16 PM There are no rubber marks for any of the tires that are shown... it has to be a dr'ed photo. Somebody put a *lot* of effort into that photo though. garfield Jul 18th, 05, 12:46 PM Betcha it was the guy in the Mustang. ROFL :D tl757 Jul 18th, 05, 12:55 PM Its not a photoshop guys. It was on one of the other sites...lateral-g.net http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/bric2005 Those are some pictures...if you go to lateral-g.net there is a link to another forum that had some guys that were there. Not a pretty sight! Tim Mister G Jul 18th, 05, 12:56 PM http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/bric2005 idoxlr8 Jul 18th, 05, 06:59 PM If you go to this link: http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/image/46317472 As posted in another thread and double click on the pic itself it will take you to a bunch of thumbnails of the whole scene. It looks like several people got taken away in ambulances and there are several more cars out of this pic that are also involved and one orange vette is real tore up. Calpantera Jul 19th, 05, 09:59 AM Come on guys, ya really think that is someone faked that an image that good they would not have created skid marks. I think it was just a totally blind corner with no time to think. It does look odd tho. ORENCH Jul 19th, 05, 11:24 AM Everything is producing their shadow over the tarmac, except the orange Mustang's tail over the white Corvette's hood. Eric68 Jul 20th, 05, 08:32 PM Everything is producing their shadow over the tarmac, except the orange Mustang's tail over the white Corvette's hood. The sun angle is away from the camera . . . nearly directly overhead. Shadows all look legit to me. unfortunately 89IROC Jul 20th, 05, 09:01 PM i think it is a photo shoped pic too look at the hood of the black car there are two of them one right on top of the other and whats with the big guy with the blue hair he doesnt belong there dont look like hes part of any typ of emergancy medical team (emt) he looks like a spectator. but on some aspecs of the pic they did do a good job but not those parts or the fact that there are not tire streaks from any one slamming on their brakes and that fact that there is an open wheeled oval track car in the pile up with the rest of the classics and muscal cars WildBillyT Jul 20th, 05, 09:41 PM If they are photoshopped, someone is really talented and really busy: http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/bric2005 http://nitro.vapornet.net/2005/July-17-Road-America-BRIC/index16.html davidpozzi Jul 20th, 05, 10:17 PM It's real! Here are more pics: http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/bric2005 scroll down to read more about it. The cars are on the course and the area behind the wall is the pit lane, it is very wide. The cars come up a hill at very high speed and after the track flattens out for a bit, the start/finish line, then more straight and into a right hand turn. The photographer was sitting in line with the start/finish line, the cars hadn't reached S/F line yet. I attended a race there once, but haven't run on that track. davidpozzi Jul 20th, 05, 10:30 PM Here is a pic of the hill, you can see the foot bridge where the cars climb the hill, it's pretty steep. Then after the foot bridge is the start/finish line which you can see in the photo. http://www.pbase.com/atrltd/image/31451193 sixtsevnssrs Jul 20th, 05, 11:34 PM Lot of money laying out there.....broken. Broken money really sux. Mark C Jul 21st, 05, 04:12 AM Anyone need cheap 67 Z28 parts? Heard there were 2 original 67Z's in that pile somewhere. http://nitro.vapornet.net/2005/July-17-Road-America-BRIC/image/dsc_0307.jpg KevinW Jul 21st, 05, 07:42 AM Like the $6 million dollar man... "we can rebuild them, we can make the better!!" :) garfield Jul 22nd, 05, 03:54 AM Check these out http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash.jpg garfield Jul 22nd, 05, 03:55 AM Check these out http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash1.jpg garfield Jul 22nd, 05, 03:56 AM Check these out http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash1.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/nickkoo/ferraricrash/crash2.jpg thorpe67RS Jul 22nd, 05, 02:00 PM What the heck is up with that pic?? (Ford/Ferrari) Vintage 68 Jul 22nd, 05, 02:08 PM Thank God the Vepsa is alright... Those are worth some money. RamAirDave Jul 22nd, 05, 08:39 PM That Ford/Ferrari incident happened here in Arkansas not long ago. An account from a local message board: "I work at Fianna Hills Country Club the pool, and from the pool you can see across the tennis courts to a driveway where a guy has some nice cars, C6 vette, a PT cruiser, H2 and a red Ferrari, 360 Spyder i think but not sure. Well today i arrive to see some police lights over there and everyone at the pool looking over there. So apprently a guy in a teal F-150 was flying up the hill on Jenny Lind, hit the curb, flew a bit, clipped the PT, and went into the garage and landed on top of the Ferrari. Someone that went over there said that the dude had to be doing between 60 and 70 mph to do that. A few hours later they finally got the truck out which was nicely dented in the front and covered with dust, dirt, and some parts of house." dave |
