I don't know... to me it looks like there was an accident and everyone else came around the corner and couldn't stop in time.

www.roadamerica.com is the Elkhart Lake, wisconsin road course. I would say the first vette roaster spun in front of the pack and they all bunched up.

They'll be some cheap parts hitting e-bay real soon....LOL......I'm gonna go puke now!

All I can say is that hopefully this is a fake photo...something about it doesn't look real...there are no heavy rubber skid markings near any of the vehicles...maybe just wishful thinking!

BTW I live in Wisconsin, I've been to that speedway, it's a real small track, if I remember correctly...

Look at the pic, the infield grass then a narrow area where the cars are up against a short wall and then the wider track area beyond the short wall with the emergency vehicles. I'm kinda thinking it was a photo chop pic too...

If it is photochop, they did a great job. You can see the mustangs orange paint through the window of the vette coupe and your can see the reflection of the white paint of the 70s vette on the bottom rear of the mustang.

There are no rubber marks for any of the tires that are shown... it has to be a dr'ed photo. Somebody put a *lot* of effort into that photo though.

Betcha it was the guy in the Mustang.

As posted in another thread and double click on the pic itself it will take you to a bunch of thumbnails of the whole scene. It looks like several people got taken away in ambulances and there are several more cars out of this pic that are also involved and one orange vette is real tore up.

Come on guys, ya really think that is someone faked that an image that good they would not have created skid marks. I think it was just a totally blind corner with no time to think. It does look odd tho.

The sun angle is away from the camera . . . nearly directly overhead. Shadows all look legit to me. unfortunately

i think it is a photo shoped pic too look at the hood of the black car there are two of them one right on top of the other and whats with the big guy with the blue hair he doesnt belong there dont look like hes part of any typ of emergancy medical team (emt) he looks like a spectator. but on some aspecs of the pic they did do a good job but not those parts or the fact that there are not tire streaks from any one slamming on their brakes and that fact that there is an open wheeled oval track car in the pile up with the rest of the classics and muscal cars

The cars are on the course and the area behind the wall is the pit lane, it is very wide. The cars come up a hill at very high speed and after the track flattens out for a bit, the start/finish line, then more straight and into a right hand turn.

The photographer was sitting in line with the start/finish line, the cars hadn't reached S/F line yet. I attended a race there once, but haven't run on that track.

Here is a pic of the hill, you can see the foot bridge where the cars climb the hill, it's pretty steep. Then after the foot bridge is the start/finish line which you can see in the photo.

That Ford/Ferrari incident happened here in Arkansas not long ago.

An account from a local message board:

"I work at Fianna Hills Country Club the pool, and from the pool you can see across the tennis courts to a driveway where a guy has some nice cars, C6 vette, a PT cruiser, H2 and a red Ferrari, 360 Spyder i think but not sure. Well today i arrive to see some police lights over there and everyone at the pool looking over there. So apprently a guy in a teal F-150 was flying up the hill on Jenny Lind, hit the curb, flew a bit, clipped the PT, and went into the garage and landed on top of the Ferrari. Someone that went over there said that the dude had to be doing between 60 and 70 mph to do that. A few hours later they finally got the truck out which was nicely dented in the front and covered with dust, dirt, and some parts of house."
