I just got my car and it came with a 2.8L v6, my friend owns a 5.0L v8 which he is going to upgrade to a 5.7L v8 and he offered me his 5.0L motor for $500 and it only has 60 000 miles on it. His is automatic and mine is 5 spd manual and they are both 1987 and are both fuel injected. Besides the motor what other parts will I need to complete the swap. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

wiring harness, engine mounts, You might need to modify your tranny crossmember, you need the automatic pedals out of an automatic camaro, to replace the ones for the manual. You need a bigger rad+fans to keep the bigger engine cooler.Ummm its pretty late so im just saying things off the top of my head, i'll add some stuff once i'll think of it. Good Luck

I do not think that trans you have will bolt up. Maybe a bell housing change, but I think you're out of luck on that one. You have to change almost everything involved from air cleaner to tailpipe. For a used 5.0. If it were me, I'd save my $$ and plan it out first, then buy a 350.
