I bought a 65 Chevelle with a set of rallys on it. I checked the numbers on the outside of the rims and this is what I came up with:
1. K-1-8 7 16 DF and in the spider K-1-8
2. K-1-8 7 16 DF and in the spider K-1-8
3. K-1-9 5 20 YH and in the spider K-1-9
4. K-1-? 1 11 YH and in the spider K-1-9 (stamp is diagonal and last numeral doesn't show up well)
Looks like 68 and 69 Z28 rims, is that correct?
Is January 69 early for a YH rim?
Just trying to figure out what I got with the Chevelle.
Thanks Chris

Thanks, I read somewhere that the YH wheels were not produced until 2/20/69 and it looks like one of these is 1/11/69. Its not a big deal, just curious if that is true.

Chris,
My car is a 01B 1969 Z28 and the build sheet from the car has YH for the wheels. Don't have the rims however, long gone. Maybe some day I'll find a set.

Greg,
That pretty much answers that question. The 2/20/69 date comes from the "Chevy by the Numbers" and is from Kelsey documentation, it does go on to state that the information is not verified by known vehicles.
Lynn,
I do intend to part with these rims for two reasons:
1. I'm into originality and like to see these things end up where they belong, and the fact that I don't own a Camaro (yet) that they would be correct on.
2. I have the original wheels and hubcaps for the Chevelle also.
The rims are in pretty good shape, lug holes look real good too. Trim rings and caps also came with these wheels. I dought that they are correct or original, is there a way to deterime if they are or not?

YH wheels started being produced 12/17/68.
Early YH's are in demand by Z's and early Yenkos.......
