Leonard1 Jul 20th, 05, 08:04 AM I did a quick search of the forum, and found this thread:

This car appears way too early to be a pace car, based on the above thread. Why don't they show a pic of the tag? (I think I know the answer already) :D
al8apexer Jul 20th, 05, 08:20 AM I have a "Registry" that I compiled in the 70's, ~ 80 VINs
N609227 is the lowest Norwood and L526352 is the earliest Van Nuys
I think the body tag of that car was jacked up and another car put under it as the body tag date does not match the VIN
wrong rear stripes
wrong master cyl
ugly cobbled exhaust, wonder why he was so proud of that to take such a pic?
69-Z11Pacer Jul 20th, 05, 08:45 AM backup lights are too close together too.
Jonesy Jul 20th, 05, 10:24 AM Cowl tag is fake and I wont say why and I dont need to see it. There is an obvious blunder on it. The first Pace Car VIN I know of is the same as Mark C said at 124679N607547 built in Feb 69.
L526248 was in Australia and is the earliest Pace Car I have for VN.
L529333 is the latest I have.
KevinW Jul 20th, 05, 10:40 AM Fender SS emblems are not located properly. Coupe Pace car??? :D
Bill, did you ever get to work on the COPO?
Mark C Jul 20th, 05, 10:43 AM Glad to see that the 69 Pacecars have finally made the big time. Once you start finding fake tags on a particular model you know your officially a member.
69-Z11Pacer Jul 20th, 05, 11:04 AM I got an e-mail from the seller with a picture of the tag. It's so fake it isn't even funny. I'm sure the obvious blunder Jonesy was talking about would be very appearent to anyone that knows even a small amount about Camaros.
I'll try to post it later, I'm not at home right now.
Z10Joey Jul 20th, 05, 02:31 PM 12437 is a coupe? Is that a misprint and did anyone contact the bidders or the owner?
Z10Joey Jul 20th, 05, 04:28 PM Okay, I was curious. I emailed the seller to find out if the cowl tag shown on the auction listing was a misprint. I informed him that the 12437 on the cowl tag was the #'s of a coupe (the VIN listed shows 12467). His response was "12437 is what's on the cowl tag." That's it. No explanation.
Sometimes I feel like it's our duty to email the bidders and inform them that the purchase they are about to make is being misrepresented as a true Z11.
Don't know if I should.
kz1000ltd Jul 20th, 05, 05:22 PM I emailed him also. He's pretty sure it's a Pacecar because when he took it apart, all of the parts where originally painted white.........no kidding.
69-Z11Pacer Jul 20th, 05, 07:30 PM Here's the tag:

Jonesy Jul 20th, 05, 09:05 PM :D Nice fake tag
bilodeaulynn Jul 20th, 05, 09:19 PM :D Nice fake tag
What is nice about it? This isn't even a good fake.

sandiegoz28 Jul 20th, 05, 10:25 PM You'd think TrimTags or whoever stamped it would at least advise the customer of the blatant code flaws in their request for the tag.
Leonard1 Jul 21st, 05, 06:37 AM Why should they care? They are still selling a tag!
