Hi guys. Im curious, my buddy has a 67 vert, V6 :boring: , and he insists on keeping it a numbers matching car. Im trying my best to sway him to the dark side, and drop a V8 in it. Now, Ive pointed out numerous "flaws" in his numbers matching scheme, but Im not sure about this one. If a 67 came with a center console w/o gauges, would that option show up on the cowl tag? Thanks for the info.

Yes it would. Gauges were not avialable in an L6, but consoles were, would have a G in the 2nd option group if it had a console.

As a follow up, is there any way to tell if it was a colum shifter or on the floor? If it helps, it came with the 2 speed PG tranny.

If it has a console code it was a floor shift, if it doesn't have a console code it was a column shift. Column shift was the base option, console option moved the shifter to the floor.
