I just got a 2002 SS about a month ago and haven't done anything to it yet. The car is still stock and 1 of the first things i want is a exhaust system. I've been back and forth on what to do though. A regular catback like Borla or a Xpipe to true dual. I'm not sure which is best and what would give me the best power gain and was wondering if anyone could help me out?

Best?
IMO you can't beat the Corsa system. It is beautiful and sounds fantastic with very little interior drone. It gives a good power gain as well- very close to not having a muffler at all. But it's very expensive.
The SLP Loudmouth doesn't really have a muffler so it gives a great power gain BUT it will DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEE on the highway. It is significantly cheaper than the Corsa. SLP has started to offer muffler options for the system because the loudmouth has gained a reputation for interior resonance.
The Hooker and Borla systems aren't as good (power-wise) as the Corsa or SLP but are well balanced systems that will still perform OK.
True duals will sound great but the word on the street is that you will lose some ground clearance; I'm not sure if that's an issue in your area with speed bumps and such.

Thanks. But besides the ground clearance problem of true dual do you think that it is better for power as well as sound?
