I have a third week of May,1969 SS RS coupe with two dashes for the paint code. In areas that appear to be original, the color looks like Champagne, based on GM paint chips. In some earlier research, I read that Champagne was a RPO for Lakewood and Special order for Norwood. Then I spotted a trim tag on ebay for a Norwood car with 63 for the paint code. Now I am questioning if the earlier information was correct. Can you confirm that 63 was Special order for Norwood in 1969.
Thanks, joe

I think this changed during the year.
But even if it was a special order color, it wasn't special paint. Meaning that if they paid the extra $ for the color, the color code would appear on the tag.
Sounds like there's something else. Either it's not 63 or it may have been stripe delete.
Can you post your tag and VIN or PM it to me?
Have you had your original paint color scanned to see if it actually matches 63?

The car has a EE parchment top, 727 ivory interior, and black stripes. I have found that with this color top and interior, white stripes are indicated???

1969 Champagne (63) is the same color as 1967 Sierra Fawn (S – S) Ditzler DAR-22813.
On 67 Sierra Fawn cars the stripes were black.
This color was not very popular on early Camaros but you sure see a lot of new cars painted this color!
