I built my homemade 9.8 to 1 CR. 496 for $3,800 to $4,000 so to each his own..

No, I'm not being flippant here but rather please consider at 11 to 1 CR., you probably will have to tweek the CR. so that you can run pump gas.

Either pistons, modified pistons, modified heads or different heads or at a min., headgaskets?? OR even cam??

Now I do believe some guys run it as is but I figure they have detuned it some to be able to run pump gas???????????

Maybe post over at "Big Brother", (Team Chevelle), and ask them b/c they run more BB's then we do as a rule b/c Chevelles had more BB's in them stock is all..

pdq67,
I would imgine that it is an open chamber ls6 if it is only 15 years old. That would put the compression closer to 10.0 or 10.25:1.
I'm going to say it would be worth about $4,000.00 carb to pan. Being a replacement ls6 isn't that big of a deal to me anyways. I built an oval port 550 hp engine for around $5,000.00 with rpm Airgap, alum water pump, hydraulic roller cam etc... all brand new so why pay more for an ls6 that I would have to tear down to inspect anyways?
It might be worth more to the right person. You can build a big hp BB on the cheap if you hunt for parts, which I didn't :clonk:

Hey pdq... 10,316 posts   It.s time to fire up the tow truck engine. :p I think we have to get a Team Camaro/ Chevell.com mob together for a little field trip to your house and see what the delay is all about
