I have a 67 RS with a stock 350 pulled from an el camino. This engine is pretty stock but i noticed that when the car is idling and you floor it the engine stalls. This is more noticeble in reverse. It seems like the car either loses spark or fuel. This only happens when the car is sitting still, if it's moving and you floor it it works fine. The car has a mechanical fuel pump, accel coil and distributor. I have no idea where to start trouble shooting. ANy ideas?

It could be any number of things, accelerator pump, Ingnition Time, mixture, Does it keep running afterwards or die altogether? Does it backfire at all? What carberator? Was it fine in the other car?

In Drive it will keep running but if I gun it on reverse (FLOOR IT) it will usually die. It doesnt backfire, it has a Holley 4 barrel (not sure about model #).

Why would you do that?

I discovered it by accident while trying to get out of the way from an oncoming car while leaving my driveway. I dont usually gun it either in reverse or drive.
