I, as much as the next red-blooded american male appreciate the female body. But I don't think we need them in our classified section. Let's just post pics of car parts and not body parts. Thank You for your consideration. :waving:

While I enjoy a bikini clad woman as much as the next guy, I thought the content on this site including the classifieds were suppose to adhere to a "family friendly" theme?

I would expect to see that content on Ebay, not here on TC.

I sent a PM to Al earlier today. I, too, enjoy the sights, but they really don't belong in the classifieds.

Yes, God forbid somebody's child sees a scantily dressed woman and becomes scareed and/or offended. No way they'd see something like that anywhere else in our society, like on a billboard, or a magazine cover, or TV for that matter. Delete the pictures and save the world, WOO HOO!!! Good grief.........

Right, I'm stupid, I missed the point. How's about I just disagree with all you "guys" and leave it at that? Thanks.

The issue that came up some of the few emails to me was guys tend to check the classifieds from work on their lunch breaks or while working, or whatever. The pictures pop up and, well... taa daa..... I checked from work and got the same result - was hoping nobody would walk in and wonder what the heck I was surfing.

The pictures themselves were certainly not offensive and also brings up a point about who owns them and if they are allowed to post around the internet on sites like ours. I suppose if said gals were holding the parts for display, that would be ok? Marketing for sure.

as the original poster of this thread i meant not to stir up a hornets nest of moralities. i have seen this tactic on ebay and just find it annoying if nothing else. my point plain and simple is...

this site has been very good to me and i hope in some way i have returned a small portion of my gratitude by helping others when i could.

this site is THE BEST site of it's kind and there are reasons it is the best site. one of them being we stick to the subject at hand. if you've ever cruised any other camaro or f-body sites you might agree with me that there is very little quality info such as Team Camaro provides, restoration, instructions, trouble shooting, and the informational pics provided by everyone here are astounding to say the least. to prove my point, has anybody besides me noticed that more and more questions regarding 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen camaros are popping up more and more often? it's because those related sites just don't have the quality or helpful guys that we have. their avatars take up 90% of the screen with little or no quality responses.

why, why, why sully our reputation by such marketing tactics? on ebay i think the only reason they post such pics is because the seller just wants to see his hit counter skyrocket. but, does it actually sell the part? nooo! does it boost his vanity...yes.

if you have a part for sale just take a pic of it and post it. there's plenty of porn sites readily available elsewhere on the web, i just didn't want it to get started here on this great site. one guy does it and nobody comments so another and another does it and soon we have a softcore porn site going with camaro's as the second subject. i know this is taking it to the extreme but why let it start?

All is cool. I emailed the seller and he responded very nicely. We never had any rules about this and probably won't, unless it comes up quite a bit.
We do receive a lot of traffic and the classifieds show several hundred thousand requests a month so trying to get noticed can be important.

We may look at a small fee for those who would like their ad to "stand out" in the listings. That would be fair and provide an alternative.

Like mentioned, it's everyone who participates here that make it a nice place to visit.

I'm the one that removed the pic's, not because there is a rule that says no girlie pic's or because I felt someones child would be tramatized by them. I really just looked at it as a waste of resources and as Al points out it could also cause work related issues if someones cubicle neighbor or boss walked by at the right moment. I don't agree with all the work related, cover the companys butt at all costs environment that prevails but have to pay my bills. Working for a company that employees 200K plus it's drummed home 365... If you don't think it could be that big of an issue you're wrong. Most large companys have whole departments dedicated to just keeping the workforce educated about this stuff. A single lawsuit avoided and it justifys paying for the entire group that presents this stuff every day.

Anyway if anyone wants pic's of chicks there are some great ones if you go to google, click on "images" and search on the word "chicks" or "girls"... Far more than the 9 posted in the ads today. :beers:

Yesterday when I first saw "the" pics in the classifieds, I became much more interested in the parts for sale...flesh sells without a doubt...my son was standing by me however and immediately noticed the pics, funny how that happens. I must admit it's better to prohibit those pics from the site, very young eyes are sometimes viewing this page, also there's be lots of 'copycat' ads! Where do you draw the line-- the model must have a car part in the pic with her?!

I can't help but remember, though, the '68 Camaro ads with the woman in a bikini bent over the hood...some things never change.

PS There's pics of naked women on the internet?? I didnt' know that! Damn, I'll have to check THAT out!

Let the parts and the price do the selling. This isn't Madison Avenue here.
