If I have Standard Black Vinyl Interior in my 69 RS convertible, will I be able to put Houndstooth Interior in without any modifications?

Yes, that's what I plan on doing. I plan to go with the black houndstooth. You may want to look at the seat foams when you take the old covers off. That's the time to replace if needed.

Also consider new springs as they are notorious for breaking. You're going to spend alot of money on new interior, why take a chance on a broken spring poking through it?

A couple of quick notes. I just wanted to let you know that Houndstooth in a convertible was not an option. Closest vinyl was comfortweave. If your car is non-stock, then no worries.

Second, are you doing a full changeover to deluxe interior? If so, you will need to replace the interior door handles and window cranks for the deluxe door panels.

If you are just putting houndstooth on the seats, then just new foam after fixing the springs.

My car had standard, black vinyl interior in it when I bought it. It was nowhere near a #'s matching car. I liked the yellow/black houndstooth and reupholstered the seats with a kit from Year One. Check the springs and foam and if in doubt, fix/replace/upgrade BEFORE you recover the seats.

I'm glad that I did. At car shows, I've noticed that the yellow paint attracts people's attention. After they look under the hood, they see the interior and they just kind of go "Wow!". If you want to see what I did, follow the link in my sig.

Actually, when switching from a standard to houndstooth (deluxe) interior, the front seat foams must be changed to have the seat covers fit correctly. Also, if switching to the deluxe door panels, not only do you need to install deluxe door handles, but also new "deluxe" style window regulators. Standard regulators' crank posts are too short to pass all the way through the deluxe panels, and you would not be able to install the window cranks without making this change.
