I have a turbo 400 and was wanting to know if it was a '64-'68 trans because i've heard they were better for the reason that they are somewhere near 80% stronger than post '68 models but have not had a chance to look for the casting # because it is still in the truck and i don't know where it is located, but the kicker is i have ordered every after market dipstick i cand find and they dont match to my original the part that bolts to the bell housing is on the opposite side as the original dipstick and is mounted to low to bolt up........could this be a '64-'68 trans?

Greg, there should be a polished tag on the side of the case with the year of manufacture. Also, try the dipstick tube from Lokar. They are flexible stainless, braided units. They will bend around motor plates and all kinds of obstructions.
