I thought this was too cool not to share.

My dad called me to tell me that he had gotten rid of his 100% original '55 Bel Air. Before I could start crying (I love that car), he explained that he traded for a restored '57 Nomad. He has been wanting a Nomad to keep his '57 hard top company, so I'm, not surprised.

I've wanted a Nomad for as long as I can remember. There used to be a souped-up orange one parked at a business in my neighborhood when I was growing up and I fell in love.

Nomads are way cool! I know of a guy who has an unrestored one sitting around his junkyard (under a lean-to shelter). He's hoping to cash in on it one of these days...

Back in the day I saw a black fuelie that made a lasting impression on me.

Tell Dad I can install an LS6, C-4 front and rear suspension, 5 or 6-speed, Vintage air, coil overs, etc. and make it accelerate, drive, and handle like a vette. Just a few $$. We have a green Nomad we did with an automatic. The owner wants "more power" so we are installing a blower. Oh what fun. It is a very nice car. Talk to Dad about his will. A few changes may be in order.

Tim Taylor would be proud of that car.

The gears are already turining in Dad's head...

He is thinking about getting an Art Morrison Frame, putting in an LS6, and doing a transplant. I would love to see that!
