I have looked all over the place for a picture of the steering wheel on my car to see what they were typically installed in. It is a black plastic, three spoke wheel with two horn buttons. There is a small chrome ss emblem in the middle of the wheel. Also, the handle has horizontal lines going about half way around the wheel.


Anyone know where I can find info on this wheel?

Sounds like the 68 Deluxe Wheel. The horizontal lines make the wheel hard to refurbish and, as of today, is not reproduced.

I have the same type of wheel in my R.S. with deluxe interior and it cost me $250 Can. to have a guy repair my badly cracked California cars plastic. He used a heat gun with a welding compound to bond and essentially glue the wheel together and then gave it to my paint guy to blast it with some interior color and clear coat. It looks a lot better than it did.

My car also came with that st. wheel & Deluxe interiors. It was damaged, so I filled the cracks with epoxy, sand the filling down and then instaled a Wheelskins leather cover. :thumbsup:

I just pulled one of these 68 wheels off my car, Deluxe interior type, had a few cracks in it. I decided to go with a nice aftermarket wheel, watcha think? Picked it up on eBay couple weeks ago for a song, I like it! I'll put the old 68 Deluxe wheel in the classifieds, it's black, PM me if you want it! KZ

I got a N30 Deluxe Wheel from http://www.oldmusclecars.com/ today. I have the same wheel as up above with the plastic shroud and 2 horn buttons. I tried to fit the shroud over the new wheel but unfortunately it didn't fit. It was so close. My old wheel is seperated in 3 different areas and has major stress cracks behind the wheel where all 3 points meet. It's beyond repair. So I either have to just buy a horn assembly and cap or keep searching for a replacement. The plastic shroud I have is in excellent condition so I'd love to find another wheel. Anyone with one or know of a reproduced one please let me know. I keep checking e-bay for one but all I find is shrouds or wheels that are all cracked up.
