When I turn on the radio, the light comes on but no sound. It's getting power. I looked with a flashlight under the dash and the speaker is connected. Also, my antenna is detached. Woudn't I still get some static or something even if the antenna wasn't full power? Any ideas.

If this radio is an OE AM for a 1st Gen, yes, you would get some static from the speaker, providing the speaker cone is in good shape.

Today's radioes are quieter for better sound reproduction.

Hook up another speaker to the radio and hear any static. Hook up the antenna for sound. If still no noise, then the final amp, or power transistor may be blown and need replacing or the speaker is bad. Some radioes have a fuse for the final amp. The older units were pretty strong.

It's an OE radio. It's weird, just a light with no sound. I noticed there was just a green and black wire going from the radio to a soddered connection on the speaker. It's hard to tell if the cone is in good shape or not.

I'll try hooking up a speaker to those two wires and see what happens.

Thanks.

Those germanium DS503 final output transistors were a very common failure even in the 60s. When they die (short) you get nothing out.
