my 84 camaro needs a little attention, because of some rust and miss-alignment of the body panels.

So i thought, Heck! why not build a new engine for it!

im not sure if i make it a 383 or 355 yet.

-350 bored .30 over (4-bolt)
-trick flow 23 degree heads with 2.02 + 1.6 v. (assembled max lift= .600)
62cc or 64cc
-750cfm edelbrock carb vac. sec.
-intake manifold ( victor jr. single plane)
- 1.5 roller rockers
-cranecam 119841 (roller hydraulic)
specs: lift = intake-.539
exhaust-.558
lift- @.050-----234.0 int.--242.0 exh.

-double timing chain
-accel upgraded HEI ignition
- 12.0 compression (mind the higher octane gas in europe!)
i quess it will be domed pistons.

-shorty headers-3 inch exhaust, very open muffler :D
-3000rpm stall converter
-th350 + shift kit
- 2.93 rearend 10 bolt (wish to keep this ratio for highway)
-probably needs a high torque ministarter

the 383 will be the same setup as above, except the crankshaft (duh)

would there be no way with that camshaft to pass emissions?
(although they're not THAT anal over here)

tell me what you guys think of it.

i did test it on desktop dyno 2003, and it looked allright to me.

Thanks a lot,

cya!

I would consider using the Performer RPM over the Vic Jr. A hydraulic roller cam and a Vic Jr are a little bit of a mismatch IMO since hydraulic rollers can cause trouble over 6000 and the Vic Jr really shines over 6000.

On the compression I would build a 383 with flat top pistons and 64cc heads for 11:1 compression. To get 12:1 with 64cc heads you would need a dome and that will make for a less efficient combustion chamber. Also, I think the European octane rating is a little different than here in the States. I think the octane number is higher than here, but the gas is not much better.
