Well, I have repaired the windshield frame about as good as I can get it, now I'm at the point where I am trial fitting everything before having the windshield reinstalled. When I took my chrome A-pillar post mouldings off, they were stuck to the frame with a bunch of stuff that I can only describe as sticky silly putty. Some time of sealant/adhesive/anti rattle measure perhaps? Is this how it came from the factory, or was this a later failed attempt at stopping corrosion to the windhshield frame? Also, anyone know how to get stuck on silicone off of chrome?

take a plastic or plexiglass scraper to the stuck silicone. Might also try some brake cleaner. I know MEK will do it if you can get ahold of it in San Diego. I think the putty stuff is called Dum Dum. There is an excellent but can't remember the name Auto paint supply store in Santee that can get you all you body supply needs. Ask around someone will know who they are.

Ohh ya, that stuck silicane wil require some patiants and few cold beers while you sit and remove it. :beers:
