I'm deep in the middle of redoing a lot of the wiring on my 69, and replacing the old fuse block with a new one from painless. Got quite a few questions, but the one i'm dealing with now is this...my new painless blk has a circuit for the horn with a horn relay. I would like to hook my horn into this circuit, which is not a problem, but the existing horn relay on the 69 seems to be multi-purpose, its also called a key switch warning buzzer. Can someone explain to me what this thing is doing? I can pull this guy out and run my main hot directly into my fuseblk along with the horn, but will i be loosing a warning buzzer? etc... other question is ive added a later model serpentine belt system to my motor, which has a new style alternator. The new alternators have the regulators built in so i don't have any need for the voltage regulator. Thing is though this guys plug has 4 wires coming out of it, which ones do i need?
thanks,
bl

on stock 68-69's, there's a pink wire with a black stripe that goes to the horn relay. It "buzzes" the relay if the key is in and the drivers door is open. There's an extra wire on the ignition switch and drivers door jamb switch to make it all happan. Many, including me, have pulled the pink/bk wire off the horn relay cause it pretty much tends to buzz whenever it feels like it.

I drew up some wiring diagrams that might help you visualize how this circuit works.
