We are working on a 1955 truck (not Camaro, that's finished) but my question is general. In hooking up the wires to the coil, I believe that if the NEGATVIVE battery terminal is grounded, the wire from the distributor to the coil should go to the negative (-) post on the the coil. And I think the suppressor should go on the positive (+) lead. Can you confirm this is correct? Thanks for your help.

Distributor wire goes to negative side of coil. Positive side of coil gets connected to one side of the ignition resistor. The other side of the ignition resistor gets connected to the "run" circuit from the ignition or key switch.

Thanks, that is exactly what I'm looking for and the way I understand it too. I appreciate the confirmation.

You are also correct about the supressor. It hooks to the positive terminal and helps keep ignition noise out of your electrical system (and radio).
