I am building a NOM but correct 396 325hp for my 67 camaro...according to my books i have a choice of 3 part # heads.....what is the best as far as originality for a 67 and the best performer....GM redesigned the combustion chamber for some reason....but you older pros would know if one was any better than the other...or if there was much difference in the redeign..thanks

They are all of the closed chamber design depending on you production date they 390 and 802 would be early production and the 215 would be later 67-68

The 390 has a 98 cc chamber and the 802 215 have a 101 cc chamber.

I have not flow tested any of them but i would think that the are pretty close to one another.

I am also trying to build an early 1967 396/325 motor for my SS Camaro, and I don't know if I should use the 3904390 heads or the 3909802 heads. the 3904390 Heads have a smaller combustion chambers (98cc) whereas the 3909802 heads have a larger ones (100cc). I'm tempted to say that the 9802 heads would be more correct, to yield a lower compression ration for the 396/325 (as opposed to the 396/350 engines). Does anyone know for sure?

Also, I'm getting mixed numbers on the amount of 396/325 1967 camaro SS cars built. Some say 1003 others say 4003. Does someone know?

Thanks
