:clonk: i've been doing an awesome grond up on a 69 f-b. i did the undercarriage black base/clear so it is nice. anywat i got the leafs back from rhe shop. i had them add a leaf to it and arch them.when i put the leafs back in ,they look bent to the outside of the car...when i tried to put the diff back in the car it sat 2 more inches ahead. i did a measurement and the leafs are not backwards but i'm so baffled by it. the car is so sweet now..it's an air car from florida and only has 45,000miles on it and it's a 400 model.any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you put the car on the ground and put some weight on the leafs? I did mine over 20 years ago, but I seem to remember that I didnt tighten my rear shackles until I had weight on them. The shackles moved quite a bit toward the rear of the car with weight on the leaf springs. Phil

Are Second Gen. rear leaf springs different?
I know mine are h-d, '68 and newer Nova 3-leaf mono replacement springs from JCW. BUT I never checked into the Second Gen. stuff is all???

hey thanx for the reply, i put in the gas tank which i sanded down fine and leared it and as well as the fuel lines{original mint} and put the weight down on the springs. i have another problem now ..the right side sits up 4 inches more now and the leafs are still pointing to the outside of the car..i'm baffled and i think i better call in the shop that did them for me and let them fix the problem that they created for me. i dissassembled the whole car myself and the rear end was sitting just fine in the proper place .
