Has anyone recently installed an aftermarket chambered exhaust system with satisfactory results including sound quality and installation? Thank you.

I have a newer system on my car (has only about 1000 miles on it, I didn't put it on the car) It sounds good ( I have a mild 396). It is LOUD and gets raspy at about 3000 RPM. I also know a guy with a 350 camaro with a chambered exhaust, that one sounds like CRAP!! I have heard a few people that say that they sound real bad on small blocks, from the one I have heard I agree. I don't know how the 46 more cubs make it sound better but it does. The guy I got my car from said he got the exhaust from summit, I am not sure where the other person I know (with the 350) got his from. I have a few sound files and videos of my car if you would like me to email them.

I have one on my Z and my only complaint is that it cackels when letting off the gas/back presure. Its pretty darn loud. I see why the goverment said No, No to GM.
I might think twice about the cambered when I start number 2.

I installed a set of Garner chambered exaust on my 70 chevelle L78 375 hp
ss. The best thing I ever did, remember if I want quiet mufflers then I drive the family car. My chevelle sound just like a muscle car should sound like.

I've got it on my small block, and it sounds a hell of alot better than a set of flow masters. They don't flow as well, but they do sound better. I have noticed that different cams sound different with the chambered system. My current ZZ4 hydraulic roller sounds better than my L79 327/350 cam did theres a lot of variables that can affect the sound of any exhaust system.

The ones that I have seen, looked kind of whimpy with little 2.25" diameter tail pipes. I personally don't think that I would like the cackle that folks are experiencing. These are just my opinions, everybody has their own likes and dislikes.

I have a Gardner chambered system on my 350 pace car. I like the way it sounds at idle but when driving the sounds sucks. Reminds me of the old fashioned glass packs with the crackling, etc. I wish I would have went with the stock transverse muffler.

When I bought my '69 Z/28 it had chambered exhaust on it with stock exhaust manifolds. I hated the way it sounded while driving. It was loud and crackled just like everyone else has stated. I bought a Gardner transverse system and put it on. It is a great improvement.
A friend with a '69 Z/28 has headers and a chambered exhaust. His sounds much better than mine did. It isn't as loud and it doesn't crackle as bad. I guess the headers tone it down.

I've had a Gardner system on my car for about 4 years now. Sounds great and still looks good. I put around 800-1000 miles on my car a year.

I bought the stainless steel chambered setup from Rick's with stock exhaust manifolds. Stock 69' Z28 with 302, no crackling and not too loud, until you get on it. I actually get a lot of compliments on the way it sounds.

I have the same setup and agree with Brian. I too bought mine from Rick's and then paid to have them professionally installed. It's been on for about one year and sounds great. I don't get the crackling when letting off either, and the system is broke in fully.

John Z and his crew put a chambered exhaust on my car 37 years ago next month and it's still there. I like the way it sounds and so do most car people. It finally got a pinhole in a muffler about 6 months ago and I'll have to use my spare before long.

My Camaro had 40 series Flowmasters on it when I bought it, which were too loud. I replaced them with a Flowmaster transverse muffler that I had professionally installed. It fits perfectly in the space where the factory muffler was. The car sounds great, and there is nothing visible hanging under the car.

Chuck, that is a great looking car. I love that stock, simple look.

I have the Stainless Works chambered system with headers on my car. I am curious what the actual factory system sounds like. My system sounds a little like glass packs, but I do not like the modern Flowmaster sound. I have sound clips of Rick's system as sent to me by Stingr69 if anyone wants them.

I'd like to hear the sound clips, too. Thanks!

Here is something to consider. Pypes version of a performance chambered exhaust. The muffler has two uniques chambered pipes running thru it. Excellent flow, not to loud, but not quiet either.

Hello Everyone(again), To new readers, my car is the Butternut Yellow 69 previously shown.........
1) I dont care for the slightly under 2"O.D.tailpipes. They are stamped with the company name IMCO. I do not know what retailer/distributor this systen came from. Is there anybody who makes a slightly larger O.D. chambered tailpipe I could retrofit (weld) to my chambers.
2) The two horzontal chambers that are one on top of another.....they are suppose to have pieces of flat stock that are bolted together. Mine is real "cobby" and welded together UGLY. I'm real ANAL and dont like this look........even if only one that ever sees it.......
Should I just cut off present cobbled up welded ugly flat stock and start over tig welding new flat stock?????
3) Are these chambered systems, suppose to be painted with high heat aluminum paint...........or are they aluminized pipe???cant tell what mine is suppose to be????

anybody have accurate info, on how misc chambered mounting hangars, brackets, clamps are PLATED or Coated.....If natural steel did YOU paint "natural steel" or what have correct cars LOOKED like.
I was thinking to manganese phosphate misc brackets and maybe zinc plate (silver) the clamps??????
Just dont want Rust!!!!!!!!!!!
