Hey, my buddy has one, we just swapped a SBC in, and now he wants to race me, I haven't been for a ride, so I don't know how fast it is. It is only about 220hp, but my camaro, is equally equiped, with a smog dog 350, minor mods, He has 4.56 posi gears, I have 2.73's, same tranny, whose gonna win? Assuming equaly driving skill, even though I am alot better :D

If he hooks up, he's gonna leave you at the line.... but at maybe half track plus, you should catch him <depending on tire sizes>... just maybe?

I hope so, otherwise I am never gonna hear the end of it, he claims to spin through 1st, 2nd, and part way through 3rd, thats on 31x10.5 tires, not slicks. If he beats me, i'm gonna have to save up my beer money for a shiney new LS1 graemlins/beers.gif

I believe with the gears he has, and the fact his vehicle weighs less than yours, you are in for some trouble. Let us know how it turns out. My guess is you will see tail-gate and red lights from beginning to end.

I agree with go69, unless he isn't a good driver you shouldn't stand much of a chance. With the same power, even if the weight is close the 4.56's over the 2.73's is where the huge difference is. Tell him you want to race for 1 mile and my money would be on you.

Edit* If you can somehow get him off the line (he doesn't hook at al, or he just nails it) you may have a chance. If you are ahead at half track he won't catch you (IMO). I still think you will be looking at the rear bumper, fake a break down and tell him you will race him again when it's fixed, LOL ;)

Then you will know what you need to win.
