I don't think those numbers will help. You need the numbers at the rear of the block (near distributor). Also numbers on pad at the front of passenger side head. This link may help. http://novaresource.org/codes.htm

Are the numbers 3858180?? If so, you have a 1965-66 vintage 327 block. Check out the numbers again.

All 327's are 2-bolt mains. If it is a 327, everyone says it is from a vette ! A 327 was used in alot of cars, besides corvettes. We need the numbers off of the front pad to tell you what the engine is from.

It's kinda funny, but I've always wondered if a genuine 'vette 327 will outrun all other 327's? Must be, 'cause everyone says they have one in their car! "A rose by any other name would still be a rose", but a REAL 'vette 327 is like no other ! Must be.

looks like its the L-79 nova II motor !! thats cool a high performance nova motor i can live with that!! it was all rebuilt to factory specs 11-1,steel crank, monster cam,and forged flat top pistons no heads for 700 bones :hurray: the builder told me it was to have small chamber heads to get the 11-1 comp? but if i use a larger chamber head like a 993 with 202 valve would that lower the comp. a little making it more pump gas friendly??? cause ,i do have a fresh set with stainless valves and 1.6 roller rockers and stud gurdles?? would that be a better combo if im not going for factory original??? thanx Tony
