brake light comes on intermittently while driving and will USUALLY go off if I shake the emergency brake handle while in the down position .. brake light flickers on and off if I shake the emergency brake handle while car is or is not moving. Brake light will go OFF if I pull UP on the emergency brake handle (seems odd).
I think there must be a short in the emergency brake light switch?? BUT where is it located and how do you get to it?
Brake fluids are ok, pads ok, no sign of brake fluid around wheels (no leaks in cylinders) and brake pedal holds when pressure applied.

I remember that there is a switch at the base of the e-brake handles on that car, near the handle pivot. You will have to pull the console apart and take a look. The switch may be loose or bad.
Mr. BlazinC, I don’t think that is totally true. But you need to realize this is really a site for 1st gen cars. That is where the knowledge base here is centered. For problems like engine, trans, etc., you often get answers because engines are engines, and so forth. But when you get to the model specific details, well, that may be out of the range of experience. Most people don’t respond to questions they can’t answer. No info is better than bad info, right? The problem with other sites, as I see it, is info for the sake of info, right or wrong. Especially as the apparent average age of its users drops (usually easy to spot by poor spelling & grammar).
Snippy answers don’t help you, either, Mr. BlazinC. Your response was less than useful, as well. I find the users here very willing to help when they can, no matter the gen.
