I'm in the final stages of putting my engine together. I just have the heads and the intake manifold to install and that's it before paint.

Now my question is......

I'm not going to put the engine into the car just yet.....maybe in a few weeks or so....

So, is there something special I should do before I put the heads on, like oil the valve area surfaces and the piston bores????

I also heard that leaving an engine on a stand too-long can "stretch" the rear of the block causing the rear cylinders to become "out of round"......

Sounds a little far-fetched too me..........

How's about some help here!!!!

Thanks..

Think about how people up here leave their cars for the winter months, sometimes going 4 - 6 months without starting them. I think you will not have a problem leaving it for a few weeks. I left mine on a stand for 8 months before installing and starting it.

i highly highly highly doubt the engine will stretch, unless it is heated up to a few thousand degrees.
