I hope I described it correctly in the title, it's the molding that holds the weather stripping over the door openings. When I removed it on my car there was some type of sealant/glue not really sure what it was. Does it need to be there? Also the flat head screws that hold it in place does anyone know were I can source some?

Thanks

Yes the sealer does need to be present when you install that channel. It keeps moisture and wind from whistling into the interior. The screws can be found from resto houses and your local body shop. Hope this helps.
