I'm restoring a 69 convertible. I've installed a new Chassisworks sub frame and connectors, new brakes, wheels, engine, rear end etc. I'm also going to Dynamat the heck out of the car. What will I experience if I leave the shakers out? Also, there is no other bracing across the bottom at the moment, should there be some sort of "X" brace or something else to stiffen it up? Thanks.

Major shaking whit you hit a bump. I have done all that and more to my vert and my shakers are atill in there. They stop the harmonic shakes??? If you hit a bump say they will stop it from shaking. I have my xpan sub frame connectors and still the verts want to shake and twist without the roof assmebly. The only way you can remove them is if you were to install say a 10-12 point cage.

I have never seen a part so "useless" (in our eyes) that the manufacturer would have spent money on if REALLY wasn't needed.

Those suckers took some engineering, and were not cheap, they were there for a reason!

I'm restoring a 69 convertible.

Restore means to bring back to original condition. Anything else is just rebuilding or customizing.
