Okay, having never owned a 69 or a big block, I find I need help with one of those weird little details.

On a 69 BB (and I would assume 70 to 75 or so), the alternator bracket attaches (nut) to a stud/bolt on the passenger side front of the intake. Because this would have been part of the engine assembly from Tonawanda, the AIM doesn't show a part number for this stud/bolt.

Any suggestions on a part number and or source for this stud/bolt? My local boneyards don't have much older stuff, and certainly not big block. Rick's doesn't show one in their catalog, so maybe it isn't repopped. Help??

Ricks does have it, part #FPC-15. It's listed on page 92 under fuel system for the COPO fuel block mount. Its the same stud. Helpful hint: slightly elongate the holes in the alternater braket for that stud and the water pump bolt for ease of installation.

Sweet! Thanks! I don't look at the 375 HP/COPO stuff, so I missed it.

I just added power steering to my car and ordered the bolt kit from AMK products. The kit was 20 pieces and came with everything, spacers, washers, and correct bolts. They have stock kits with the correct fastners for everything. They sent me a catalog that was an inch thick with all their fastners. This is where Rick's is buying their fastners. If you are restoring a car, their catalog is a must have! Phil

Or you could purchase a 3 inch long 3/8 inch threaded stud and use two nuts,..one for the intake, and the other to secure the alt bracket.
