Should i need to drop an A arm to install a 1" Hellwig front swaybar? It won't go in no matter how i try. A arm is in the way. I installed a PST 1 1/8 without dropping it on another 68. It was a fight but it went in.

I jacked my front up, remove both tires, turned my steering wheel one way or the other to lock AND inserted my Addco 1" front bar cussing and a kicking!

Funny thing is tho, that when I got it in exactly the right spot going through the coils, it popped right in!!

I think it was locked to the pass side and inserted from the drivers side, BUT it's been years??????????????? So bear with me...

Just keep at it and I bet it will pop right in place sooner or later.......

Shoddy,
I had a bit of trouble geting a 1 1/8" bar in as well, but it went. Like you said, the A-arm was in the way.
The only thing that occured to me that would have made it easier at the time would have been to remove the upper bump stop so the A-arms dropped lower. But like Paul said, I just kept playing and it popped in place.

Pop the ball joint on one side and drop the spindle and spring. Then you'll be golden!
