We all know 2002 was the end of the Camaro production run for a few years at least. We all also know it was the 35th anniversary car. Why were there 36 year models of the Camaro produced if the last year produced was the 35th anniversary car?

This pattern follows, 30th was '97 but was the 31st new model. 25th was '92 but it was the 26th new Camaro... What's everyone thinkin?

It's kinda like celebrating your 1st birthday even though you are starting your second year. We're always a year behind. This year I celebrate the 7th anniversary of my 39th birthday!

Or the fact that was lost on many - the first day of the millenium was Jan 1st, 2001 not Jan 1st, 2000.

Maybe this will make it easier to understand...

We celebrate our 35th birthday at the beginning of our 36th year. We celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversaries at the beginning of our 36th year. Chevy did the same thing...celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Camaro at the beginning of its 36th year.
