how would i know if this engine i just bought off of my neighbor, which he says is out of a 69 camaro ss. Tell me what to look for.

Post the casting # from the rear of the engine and any #'s from the front of the block,just in front of the pass side cyl head. This really belongs in the TAG TEAM forum of this site.

Engine ID number on the machined pad should have two letters as part of the code. The first letter should be a "J" or a "K" if it was in a '69 Camaro. Hope this helps.
