Wow clwilcox33 Sep 15th, 05, 09:19 PM Edit: oops, you wanted pics of sticker placement. NM Unreal Sep 15th, 05, 09:33 PM JohnZ posted pics of his unrestored original a few months ago. Do a search. djunod Sep 15th, 05, 11:01 PM http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12996&highlight=deck Isn't that a '69... Is '68 the same? JohnZ Sep 16th, 05, 05:48 PM Sticker placement was the same for '68-'69; they used the same inner panel. djunod Sep 16th, 05, 09:21 PM Thanks :) djunod Sep 17th, 05, 08:51 PM Another question on the deck lid... is the trunk latch inside the deck lid supposed to be "natural" color or painted like the deck? My buddy says "natural". clwilcox33 Sep 17th, 05, 09:57 PM Looks like John's original deck lid is painted. I'd go with that. Edit: I mean the hardware you're referring to is painted... djunod Sep 18th, 05, 02:16 AM I saw that his was... that is one of the reasons why I'm asking... JohnZ Sep 18th, 05, 06:45 PM Another question on the deck lid... is the trunk latch inside the deck lid supposed to be "natural" color or painted like the deck? My buddy says "natural". It was installed in the Body Shop - it's painted. djunod Sep 18th, 05, 07:27 PM Thanks. Is that why the assembly manual doesn't show much for the rear body, because the rear was done at Fischer, and the front fenders etc where installed on the Chevrolet assembly line? And then painted at Chevrolet? mr396 Sep 20th, 05, 03:22 PM here's mine original 07C Norwood vert 7-22-58. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/mr396/camaro1.jpg JohnZ Sep 20th, 05, 07:15 PM Thanks. Is that why the assembly manual doesn't show much for the rear body, because the rear was done at Fischer, and the front fenders etc where installed on the Chevrolet assembly line? And then painted at Chevrolet? Yup - the body shell from the firewall back was built, painted and trimmed by Fisher Body, and the rest was done by Chevrolet; it's all explained in detail, step-by-step, right here: http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml :beers: mitch's68 Sep 22nd, 05, 01:37 PM One thing you may want to consider. You can buy the stickers from Rick's or anyone else for that matter which I believe peel off and then stick to the lid. I read where you can photocopy the sticker and glue the photocopy to the lid. That's how it was done back in 68, paper and glue. Mitch :) |
