After 3 months of my engine sitting in the car the springs have sunk below acceptable limits. I measure 24 inches from the floor to the fender well.
I am only 1 1/4 inches from the suspension rubber stopper :-(
I purchased these springs from Rick's and I am not very happy right now. The car has 10 miles on it. The shop correcting my steering problem mentioned it sits way to low, which I posted about yesterday "what is the normal height = 25.5"
At this point the need to come out but what do I replace them with?
Any one purchase new springs and are happy with the way the cars is sitting? If so where did you purchase them from?? If anything could go wrong with this restore it has and/or will :-(.
Stock 69 302 :-( :-( :-(

I have a set of Moog #6308 coils in my car. I took the "Z28" replacement coils (purchased from D&R Classic) out when the front suspension was rebuilt. The 6308's were supposed to lower the front by about 1", but it doesn't seem like it did. I replaced them because I wanted to know what I really had. My car measures 24.5" one side and 25" the other side. I am pretty sure the difference is a sheet metal issue, not a spring issue. They were installed correctly. By the way I have about 1" at the bottom stop. Hasn't been a problem yet. Personally I would not want the height any higher than mine. It still looks a little high in the front.

Thanks Gary L. Mine is 24 both sides. Does seem a little low. I hope I get a response from someone that installed a set in a 69 Z and has the right ride height so I can purchase the same set.

I went to my local parts house (Kunkle) and got off the shelf 68 w/ smallblock No A/C replacement springs (Moog brand, forgot number) and I think mine sits too high, it did sit so low a standard 2 1/4 ton jack would fit.
I was told the springs would settle after about 1 year and some driving. They only went down 1/2" at most.

But I can always cut them.... someday.

You may want to add spacer rings under your present coils. If you like the rebound etc. of your current springs they will raise it up for you.

I should add I have 215/65 R15 tires (26" tall).

Thanks TJS69, thanks not a bad idea except I was hoping to put everything back to original. This is still better then riding around with my front sooo low.
