There is another member here with 6-cyl. I had a 67 6-cyl with column shift P/G and I seen another 67 V8 carcus at the yard of auto column shift. That's been it for me.

I would say not common, but they do exist. There were many converted to floor shifts over the years or even to V8's.

Rare sometimes seems to mean higher value. Unfortunately six cylinders are not very popular.

I own a 67 6 cylinder with column shift PG.

In it's day it was not a "rare" car.

The problem is most people saw a great camaro with the inliner in it & halued it out to drop in a V8. (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I on the other hand, I would rather build up a 6 cyl car to make all the Copo clone builders crazy!

So, by today's standards, yup, it probably is rare, but the appraised value will never reflect it.

Paul :beers: :beers:

I think it could have been ordered with a bench seat (in fact he wants me to see if I can find one). I am going to put a auto in for him, He is going to give the car to #1 daughter as her 1st car.

If I can across a 6cyl in a Camaro, I'd leave it in. As mentioned, they are becoming rare since many have pulled them out to drop a v8 in. The 6 cyl cars are gaining in value. I appreciate seeing them at car shows and some of the engine compartments look nicer.

This brings back old memories.I had a neighbor in the late 60s we called him Mr. 3spd on the column. Every car he had was that. 67 Camaro gold 327 3spd column,66 Bel Air 327 3spd column and 67 El Camino 327 3spd on column. Wonder where his cars are today?

My car was born a straight six car with a three on the tree. But lets not kid ourselves here, rare in this day and age maybe, but desirable? Maybe to a choice few and never for original big block dollars. These are the perfect cars to modify without losing the value. Make it your way and you will probably retain or exceed the value of an original 6 banger 3 on the tree. These are the cars that make great street machines without having to worry about true value. I still have the motor and will be swapping out the tranny this year and have no fear that if it ever crosses the auction blocks that someone will be yearning for the 6 banger and 3speed.

I have a 67 convertible rs with 230 six and p/g..22-24 mpg and got up to 27 going thru Kentucky??? One barrel carb. My fisrt Camaro was a 1967 250 six with factory 3 speed on floor with hrst style shifter. Man I loved it. That six is almost bullet proof!!!

there are 2 camaro bench seats on ebay. If I have a column shift, I would get a bench seat! Dare to be different! :)
