I have been lurking here for quite a while and I respect the opinions of you all, so here goes. I have been sitting on the car in my sig, a 68 Z/28, for two years. It was my father’s car and when he passed I became executor of the estate. If I was the only heir I probably would keep it but since I’m not, it’s time to close every thing up and settle the estate. I know pretty much what to ask for it, hopefully I’m not too out of line, but I am wondering if anyone has any advice on how and where to sell without being defrauded. I figure as soon as it’s listed, I’ll have plenty of offers from Nigeria. I’ll try the classifieds here first and maybe some others before I mess with E-bay. I know it’s usually the sellers doing the lying, but I have never sold anything of this value. I have no problem being totally honest during the transaction; it’s everyone else I don’t trust.

List it here and on www.yenko.net (http://www.yenko.net) and you'll have it sold in no time... If you've been lerking and know the cars value you should know you won't have any problem selling a '68 Z/28... My guess is you knew just by asking the question here you might get offers...
As for the scammers anyone exercizing a bit of caution and common sense should have no problem avoiding them...

Is the blown car the one you are selling or is it another? How long had your father had the car?No matter where or who you sell it to get cash.Never had a problem with cash.

He bought it in 86. It was pretty modified at the time, fender flares, tunnel ram, ect. He added the blower and had it repainted a couple times.

You also don't see alot of 68's either, mostly 69's, and the prices for them just keep climbing, that makes it kind of hard to judge. At least for me.

Like you said 68Zs are hard to find if you can you might consider buying out the other peoples interest in the car.You may never have the chance to own a 68Z again. Not your Dads car anyway. As I said in my first reply cash works very well.Good luck.

I agree with 67 Plum
You will probally never have a chance to own your fathers car again, and if so you will have to pay alot more than you could with your sibblings being that the car would stay in the family.
I like most here would pay a great deal more than market value to recoupe our first Camaro. Those of use that still have thiers would not part with it at todays market prices with out haveing a unsolvable finacial problem.
68 Z28 or not it is a family hierloom now and that is not appraizable.
69 seem to be the hot ticket right now and 68 models like the Z and the big blocks will always hold a value but not as much as the 69's right now anyway.
Just my .08 cents good luck with your decision that you are about to make......
