Hi. We're replacing the fuel injectors in my 2000 Camaro V6. About all I know about fuel injectors is that they're really expensive at Auto Zone! My husband can install them, but we're not sure which kind to get. I've been looking on Ebay for a deal, but it seems that all those Camaro fuel injectors are made by Ford?? Can you guys give me a good, inexpensive recommendation on where to find fuel injectors. As for type, I think I would just need something basic. Not really into performance - just want to get around town.
Thanks!!!

I believe Bosch has the patent on the design used by all. I could be mistaken.

Your best bet would probably get a set, usually 8 each, from Summit Racing by Accell. Find out how many lbs/hr. the present injector for one cylinder is. Then look up in Summit's catalog and buy the set the next higher number, ie, if OE is a 19 lb/hr. injector, then get a 21 lb/hr. injector. They cost $240 delivered for eight.

Your correct in replacing all of the injectors at the same time. Use plenty of petroleum jelly on the O-rings to install. There also may be an exhaust gas temperature sender on the intake plenum. Make sure this sender is in good shape, high resistance to ground when cold, and the wire going back to the ECM is good. Change the fuel filter at the same time.

I did the above to an 85 Z/28 w/5.7 Corvette engine and TPI. Went from OE of 19 lb/hr to a 24 lb/hr injector, I bypassed the 22 lb/hr., and kept the same program in the ECM and it ran fine with no problems.

Maybe others will expunge their knowledge...........

Great information!!! That's exactly how much I wanted to spend. (We have already replaced the fuel filter, so that's even better.)
