hiya guys.

I have what appears to be a 12437 68 trim tag with a 12337 VIN # on my 68 Camaro. I know this VIN is for a six cyl car. I'm pretty sure that the guy I bought the car from wasnt the "switchee" as he did'nt have the car for very long (2 months). I am not too concerned with numbers, as I got this thing running in very decent shape with V8 and Muncie for 6 grand. It is disturbing to see how many people are swithcing numbers on these cars. It's hard enough to find one.... even a std coupe without paying a mint for it. (most hot rodders dont have 25k to throw around) Seems as if it wont be long till finding a carcass will cost 10 grand minus running gear. And then, you have to worry about numbers. Sheesh. It's almost our fault for raising demnand on the damn things. lol. Well, I hope others out there in my boat enjoy their "12437 badged 6 cylinder VIN coupe" as much as I do.

The 12337 vin does make your car a 6cyl but there is nothing wrong with the 12437 on the cowl tag the third digit on all 68 & 69s is a 4

Ditto on Jerry's statement. The VIN and Cowl 12x37 will be different on 6 cyl cars.
