Here's what we can tell you based on what you have here.
1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
67 = convertible body
8 = 1968 model year
N = Norwood, OH assembly plant
314075 = vehicle serial number sequence
Decode for body number: 013682
09D = Built the Fourth week of September.
68-12467 = Convertible.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
717 = Standard Blue Bucket Seats.
E-1 = Lower Color is Fathom Blue and the Convertible Top Color is White.
There's nothing on a 68 cowl tag to identify an SS.
The partial VIN stamp you gave as the "engine code" indicates the engine matches the car, if it's an original VIN stamp and not a restamp. You need to provide the rest of the letters and numbers off the pad where the partial VIN is. There should be a set of numbers like this:
Vxxxxaa
or
Txxxxaa
where xxxx are numbers (or sometimes I in place of 1) and aa are letters.
The rear axle assembly date of Sept 19 lines up with an 09D production date. BP is a 10-bolt, 2.73 open rear. It may still be an SS, but it is less likely with this rear. A 68 SS should have had a 12-bolt rear.

Yes, ME is the 327/210/Glide motor, so no it's not an SS. The Engine assembly date of Sept 18th macthes up with everything else, so it looks like you have a numbers matching base V8 Camaro vert. Still a nice find 37 years after she was assembled; you should be throwing her a birthday party right about now...
