I have been trying to track down this intermitant clunking in my front end. I have completely rebuilt the front end, the steering box(manual) and the body mounts. I checked the ball joints but don't see any noticeable play in them. However the upper ball joint boots don't bulge at all when greased they always appear to be empty? If I grease them the noise will go away for a while? The ball joints are from napa and only have about 2k miles on them.
