The media is at it again. As soon as the news comes on tonight, the first thing you see is about $5/gallon gas. Jump on the internet, its the same thing. Thats all we need...someone throwing more fuel into the fire of mass hysteria and panic.
I had to make a run into town a few minutes ago (its almost 1:00AM here). There was guy at one of the 24 hour quicky marts in a pickup with four 55 gallon drums in the back, filling them with gas

Any excuse to run the price up (not that Katrina/Rita have no impact) is taken. Prices go up immediately but take forever to fall. Boy, I like my 2.3 mile commute.

Travis, I hope you kept a safe distance from the guy with all the drums. Can you say DANGEROUS. I didn't even think that was legal. I know here in CA it's not, at least you can't store that much fuel at your home.
I thought they said the Rita was not going to effect any of the refineries (that's what the news said last night). I just hope everyone makes it out of there. They were still stuck in traffic last night and there was no gas to be had. Our country needs to get things together.

Anything is legal if you don't get caught? Right? :clonk:

I hear ya on the media, it frustrates the hell out of me when i see that. Like a self fullfilling prophecy...they open their mouths and the oil companys think its ok to do it cause its expected. And yes, 72CamaroSS- that 383 will suck gas like its going out of style.
