Hello everyone...i was reading the post on the 69 daily driver advise and wanted to know from some of you, how you view your ride...some of you are in project stages, send us some pics,on this post.. so we can see at what part of your build you are at. With some updated pics from time to time. Some of you that only show your ride indicate that with or with-out a pic.and why you do or do not drive it. I was driving my 69 to work every day as a daily driver and loved it..i would catch myself leaving early or comming home a little later just to Drive my Camaro on the freeway...for you drivers you know what i mean when i say there is really nothing like driving a Muscle Car slamming gears, picking up speed, almost red lining your tack...most of the time getting on the freeway is almost like the 1/4 mile for me..just being able to pick up speed at such a short distance...theres nothing like driving these cars...and now i only take mine out on weekends cause i know there are fewer and fewer of these cars around....Thank-you for taking the time to read my views and am looking foward to hearing about yours....Chris :D

I'm a one camaro man, and I drive her every chance I get. To the corner store for a gallon of milk, to menards, to work and back, even the occasional work related road trip. If the roads are dry, I'm driving the vert, with the top down!

I'll drive mine around some, after all that is the most fun to be had with these cars. But for out-of-town shows, it will go in a trailer... one big reason is that it currently has 4:11 gears and a TH400... don't really want to drive any faster then 55 for extended periods of time... that gets old real fast.

Maybe next year if I get a Gear Vendors overdrive, then the story will change a little.

Like Jim, I am a one Camaro guy and drive it daily, rain or shine.

BTW, what is a "Trailer Queen"?

I've known a couple "trailer PARK queens" but I think that's different.

Anyway, during the past couple years I've driven my Camaro almost every day (except winter, when it is parked in my garage), I take my kids to school in it, pick them back up, get groceries, go to sporting events, etc. I live in a town of less than 12K population, so EVERYONE knows my by the car, which can be good or bad.
My main worry (besides grocery store door dings) is someone vandalizing or stealing the car especially when I'm in the twin cities...

I spent a lot of extra money to put technically correct parts on my Yenko Tribute Car (Clone) CE coded COPO motor correct from pan to air cleaner. Almost all stamped or cast parts are correct. With the exception of repop headliner, seats, carpeting, and all safety items (wiring, brake lines, fuel lines) virtually all other parts are pristine original, or NOS parts.

However, it's for driving, not for trailering!!!

i drive mine just about everyday in the summer.
I despise trailer queen driven cars
especially at carshows.

driver.. 750 horsepower driver.. the only way to have or build one.. i take it out when ever it is dry. if you don't drive them what fun is to sit in front of it. nothing like pulling in to the gas station to see everone looks.

I was going to just drive it on the weekends, but after I finnish it and get done spending all the money on it I know that I for sure am going to make mine a daily driver. That is a big reason why I put an overdrive tranny in it, i'm going to make it as fuel effeciant as I can, so I can at least afford to drive it all the time...............007

I drive it once or twice a week when I am at home, right now I am out of town for two weeks working. It is a driver, no where near a trailer queen, it's a 20 footer at best.
Like to drive it more, but gas out here is killing me. Sorry no pics, I need to get a digital camara or scanner so I can put photos on my hard drive.

Mine is a driver, but mostly on the weekends and for running errands after work if it is not raining (I hate repolishing the rims, bumpers, etc.). The parking lot at work is in a not so good neighborhood and cars accasionally vandalized, plus are other cars have plenty of door dings.

Definately driver - with the 5sp and 4.10 gears I still got 14 mpg on the power tour. It's the only way to go with the top down and bugs in the teeth (smilin all the way). I built my camaro to drive with new technology to enjoy the looks of the '69. I will turn the air on with the top down and drive all over Memphis in 100 plus degree weather.

I usually drive up to somebodys trailer queen get out and observe them polishing the bottom of their floor pans and exhaust, I then get back into my car, tach it up and lay new pinstriping across the parking lot wondering why someone would put so much time, money, and effort into a car they will never drive. You got to wonder, do you own the car or does the car own you?

You got to give major Kudos to the Yenko.net guys, out in St. Louis they were really putting those high dollar cars through there paces and drove them the way they were meant to be driven, a 1/4 mile at a time.

Hey guys, I would love to drive mine every day... however, right now I would have to pull the "Fred Flintstone" since I'm replacing the floor pans. When I'm finished with it, I will drive it when ever possible. I agree with the, "why fix it and never drive it" thing. If I visit the pops in Reno during Hot August Nights, I'll probably trailer the car up there, but not an enclosed trailer! How would you like to be cramped inside a trailer not able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine? A big thanks to everyone on here who has helped me and a thousand others with their projects. Thank you. How do you post the pics?

Sounds like a lot of us would like to see more of each other's car pics, even videos, locations, etc. Maybe Admin could make a place on this site for something like this...does anyone know Admin personally? Maybe do some lobbying?

tough day.... been raining all night, stopped a few hours ago, roads still wet. Biggest local show of the year is happening about 10 miles away at Dempsey Dodge in Plano, IL. All the fine Mopars will come out to play... They even do a burnout contest! last year, a 64 Ramcharger super stocker was wowing the crowd, open header burnouts followed by 3 foot wheelstands! Itsa tough choice, but I'm thinking I'll go. I'll needa quick polish up the wiper arms and put em on, just in case. I DON'T own a traler...

I'm just north of you in Wisconsin, it's been raining here too, we had heavy rain and lots of thunder and lightning overnight...you might as well go to the car event, even if the weather is lousy my experience is that it's still usually a good time. Easier to do burnouts on wet pavement!!

And most of them brought them there in trailers. So were you leaving "pinstripes" all around them?

I was also at the SCR in StL. Like SamLBInj said, it was pretty cool to see all those $100K+ cars doing burnouts and donuts in the parking lot. I was surprised, but they definately get a big  from me.

I drive either of my two cars pretty much daily, that was until they both recently began to run like crap. Just around town mostly, because that 8-10 mpg is killer these days.

Went with links rather than pics:

However, being in the resto business, I'm also well aware of the trailer queen side of the story. The cars I build for customers would be considered in this category. That level of car is what I really enjoy building, and what they do with it is up to them.

For me, one day Im gonna build a 69 LeMans Blue RS Z, 990 pt car, and make it my daily driver. :beers:

Gotta love the goat. Sold a '69 vert for $250. Every time we see one the wife just says "Don't go there" :clonk:

My Camaros are drivers for sure and they get plenty of  . Drove the '67 to AllTel and then to Pep Boys on Sat. I did leave my son on guard at Pep Boys.

Drive 'em :beers:

So I did go to that show, got there about 15 minutes after registration, not much of a turnout what with the weather, but some nice cars. Bailed at the first drop of rain, didn't get too wet at all.

I drive mine to the corner store when I can, I have not put in my fan yet due to other priorities (finding a new job) so its only very short trips for now. But with the gears I have in her I do not think I would be driving her to work on a daily basis unless I worked very close to home.

The gear thing makes it fun to drive out of your driveway or local things or doughnuts & burnouts in parking lots or even the drag strip... but it makes it impossible/impractical to drive any distance.

All three of our Camaros were built to be show/drivers. The only time any of them gets on a trailer is to travel more than an hour and a half one way. Or around 100 miles one way. Anything less and we drive them. They are supposed to be driven. Although they are garage kept all winter. The 69 and 75 both took first place in their respective classes in a show yesterday and they were driven there, not trailered. If you care to see them, click on the link below.

There is a third catagory, the jack stand queen. This is a first gen sitting in jack stand prison, with only dreams of becoming a trailor queen or even a driver.

That's mine right now; I am working a 2nd job to help finance the project and the time to work on the car is now gone with the 2nd job. I am danged if I do, danged if I don't.
But eventually, she will be a weekend warrior, mainly because I am in the Navy, and I don't trust the base drivers.

My Camaro doesn't fit either catagory. I don't use it as a daily driver but it has never been on a trailer either. It comes out on nice weekend days for a car show or for a nice cruise, but the rest of the time it sits in the garage under a car cover. I only average about 800 miles a year, but none of them are on a trailer.

Mine is a trailer queen, its sole purpose is traveling a 1 mile at a time, pit to staging lanes, to burn-out box, to starting line, to shutdown, to return road, and back to pit.

Would love to put mufflers and wipers, and safety inspect it, and drive it to work for giggles. Probably would get an invitation to jail, DO NOT PASS GO!

Scott, I already added that category and called it "Garage King". It's what my Maco is most of the 8 years that I've owned it, although for the last 11 months or so it has been a "Jackstand Joker" because I'm in the very slow process of upgrading the motor (454) and front & rear suspension (DragVette, etc).

I blew the dust off mine (been sitting for months covered up) and took it to the local elementary school for a little show that the school puts on for kids that get good grades and stay out of trouble . They go wild looking at the old cars, what makes me laugh is the teacher tells them please don't touch the cars but while I'm standing by my car I'll see some kids reach out and just touch it and get jazzed. One little girl came up to me and said she wishes her dad was there because he would be really happy to see the cars, she was almost crying. I have a trailer but the Camaro never been on it.

I just licensed mine about 7 weeks ago, and have put about 2,400 miles on it so far. I have drove it to work everyday for the last 4 weeks. When we start to go somewhere the kids want to take the Camaro, and my wife says take the Camaro because it get the best gas mileage out of the 3 rigs we have licensed. It is a long ways from being a real nice car, it is a beater now.
