for those of you that have been fortunate enough to find your build sheet, could you give me a good starting point to begin looking for mine? i'm trying to verify that i have a norwood built 69 350 SS. the trim tag does not have a "x" code, but it says that it was a 12A car , so i'm guessing thats week 1 of dec 68. did x codes start yet?

sadly your Norwood car probably wont have a build sheet in it. Most dont, but rarely one shows up but dont bet on it. If it was there, check under the seats, up under dash, in trunk over wheel wells, anywhere there is a nook or cranny. Behind seat backs, under carpet, you can probably guess by now , anywhere. :)

X codes started showing up around 12B, so just a little after your car was built. There is a 98% chance that you wont find your build sheet on your Norwood car.

does anybody know how to search the history of a 12A built car? the upolstery is original so maybe i have a minute chance to find my build sheet in the seatback. all posts say no way, but i'm still looking

On a 12A car there is a slight chance that there is an X code behind the rear seat, written in faint yellow crayon type marker. Look on what is called the bulkhead, or the metal support behind the back seat on the passenger side. Visible from inside the car with the seat removed. Seems like they started marking that area just before they got the switch done on the cowl tag. If you want to PM me, I can send you a picture of my crayon marking.

this weekend i had the chance to look behind my back seat for that crayon marking.....no such luck. did they rub off ever? is there another location to look? or do i have an anti-x car

Not much chance it rubbed off, as there is nothing for it to rub against, and it is hidden.
Never heard of any other location getting an X code.
Sorry.
